Answering the Call: Bringing Aid to the Flood Zone in Ingram, Texas
On July 16th, Squatch Survival Gear and T3R Medical traveled to Ingram, Texas, to assist in ongoing Guadalupe River flood recovery efforts. What we witnessed was nothing short of devastating—entire trees uprooted, structures damaged, and communities struggling to recover from weeks of flooding.
We didn’t go to observe. We went to support.
Squatch Survival Gear’s founder, alongside Jeremy from T3R Medical, carried in nearly $1,500 worth of medical supplies—ranging from basic first aid to advanced trauma gear—through a secure Texas Department of Public Safety checkpoint. Law enforcement presence was strong, and for good reason: this is still an active disaster zone. If you’re not cleared to be there or supporting a verified relief effort, do not go. Respect the perimeter. Respect the people.
At the heart of the operation is Jason Pike, a lead diver with Frogman Tactical USA, working side by side with Heroes for Humanity. These teams are conducting dangerous and emotional underwater recovery operations—not for pay or praise, but for closure. For families still searching. For those still hoping.
We handed off the supplies directly to Jason and his team—gear built for critical situations, the same kind we trust in our own survival kits. These weren’t donations for show. They were tools for survival: tourniquets, trauma dressings, chest seals, gloves, and more—the kind of equipment that saves lives when seconds count.
Jason walked us through what his team faces: cold, fast-moving water, tangled debris, limited visibility, and the emotional weight of every mission. Their courage is matched only by their exhaustion—but they continue because the job isn’t done.
This wasn’t just a supply run. It was a reminder of why we do what we do—and who we do it for.
