Squatch Survival Gear Website Upgrade: What Changed and What We’re Fixing
At Squatch Survival Gear, we’ve been putting serious work into rebuilding and improving the website experience from the ground up. The goal was simple: make the site faster, cleaner, easier to navigate, and better for the people who rely on our gear.
Over the last several weeks, you may have noticed a new look across the site. Navigation has been streamlined to help you find packs, medical gear, survival tools, and load carriage systems faster without digging through cluttered menus or dead-end pages. Product pages are being cleaned up and reorganized so you can better understand what each piece of gear is designed for and how it fits into real-world use.
We’ve also been working behind the scenes to improve the long-term performance of the site itself. Better structure. Better organization. Better mobile usability. Faster loading pages. Cleaner categories. Stronger search visibility. The goal is to build a platform that serves our customers better while helping more people discover American-made gear built for hard use.
But we also want to be honest about the problems that came with these upgrades.
During the transition, some major issues hit the checkout system. In several cases, customers were unable to complete purchases because shipping profiles disconnected from products and variants inside the system. That meant certain items could not calculate shipping correctly, which caused checkout disruptions and blocked orders from processing properly.
To fix the issue, shipping profiles had to be manually reinstalled and reconnected across products and variants throughout the site. With the number of products, variations, and configurations we carry, this became a much larger repair process than originally expected.
Even now, we are still finding isolated products or variants that may have been missed during the rebuild process.
If you recently experienced checkout issues, failed shipping calculations, or frustration placing an order, we sincerely apologize. We know that is unacceptable, especially for customers who trust us for critical gear, emergency equipment, and mission-ready loadouts.
The good news is that approximately 95% of these issues have now been identified and corrected. The site is significantly more stable than it was during the transition period, and we are continuing daily audits to track down remaining problems.
If you encounter any issue while checking out, please contact us immediately. We want to know about it so we can fix it fast. We can't do it without you all!
This rebuild has been a major undertaking, but we believe the end result will create a stronger experience for the long term — one that better reflects what Squatch Survival Gear stands for:
American-made gear. Real-world function. Durable equipment built by people who give a damn.
Thank you to everyone who has continued supporting us through the growing pains, reporting bugs, placing orders, and spreading the word. Small American manufacturers survive because of loyal customers who believe in what we’re building.
And we’re not done yet.
More improvements are still coming.
Thanks for your Patience
